Level of Japanese Quality and Design Garners Praise

Japanese textile trading companies have been focusing on boosting sales of textiles in Europe. Their continued efforts to appear at international fabric exhibitions, such as Premiere Vision in Paris, Milano Unica (MU) in Italy and Munich Fabric Start (MFS) in Germany, have paid off in garnering repeat customers. Renowned apparel brands have praised Japanese companies for their distinct level of quality and processing unique to Japanese textiles.

Yagi Tsusho Limited, which has a reputation in the brand business, continues to exhibit at MU and MFS, and is growing its clientele in Italy and Germany. Its appearance at the MU Fall/Winter 2018/2019 exhibition in July was a success, with visits from major players and other renowned companies that outpaced the previous exhibition held in September, and also made solid progress in business talks.

In particular, the denim collection was a hit, along with synthetic outerwear, knit wool variations, and others. Yagi Tsusho is considering stationing textile export staff in Europe in order to boost fabric sales. It has also contracted with a French agent to make inroads in the French market. Together with the dates for PV Paris, Yagi Tsusho will also hold individual business consultations from September 18-21 at The Westin Paris to develop new clients.

Itochu Corporation’s Hokuriku Branch has a three-pronged broad strategy that focuses on menswear and outerwear at MU, womenswear for sophisticated women at MFS, and womenswear, menswear, and outerwear at PV Paris, which will host buyers from around the world.

In addition, Yagi Co., Ltd. and Teijin Frontier will exhibit at PV Paris to further bolster their sales in fashion textiles.
