■Development with a focus on creativity

Toko Shoji Co., Ltd.

At the upcoming Milano Unica, Toko Shoji Co., Ltd. will present a colourful array of creative and original materials designed from jersey, lace, and other fabrics. For its denim series, the company has developed new varieties of Tencel denim and cotton jersey denim to accompany the traditional cotton. It will also be unveiling a new material made by subjecting cotton denim to a tanning process and then embossing it to create animal patterns. Toko Shoji has expanded its lace selection as well, giving particular focus to raschel lace.

At Premiere Vision in Paris, Toko Shoji will offer a variety of easy-to-wear materials imbued with a three-dimensional feel through the use of uneven textures and colour gradations. These remarkable results are produced through the combination of several different materials, applying polyester, nylon, and lamé thread to cotton, hemp, wool, viscose, and other fabrics.

Rather than placing the focus on cost, Toko Shoji stands apart as a company that chooses to emphasise creativity in the development of its products.

■Achieving success with Japanese-made cloth used for outerwear

YAGI  Co., Ltd.

Japanese company YAGI Co., Ltd. will be exhibiting at Premiere Vision Paris for the first time in February. It has concentrated its efforts on the sale of cloth for top European and American brands, and decided to participate in Premiere Vision (PV) in order to introduce its high-quality cloth that is made in Japan.

The theme is ‘comfortable outerwear’. The company aims to achieve success through a line-up of textiles that are all made in Japan. To focus the spotlight on its strengths, it will be narrowing down the selection to jersey for outerwear and pants for this exhibition.

The line-up comprises 120 models of original cloth, all produced by YAGI. Cloth for menswear makes up about 70% of the full line-up.

The company will mainly be promoting a complex cloth of cotton, ramie, and linen that is characterised by its lustre and cool sensation, as well as a high-gauge stretch ponte.

Tension and stiffness are added to 40-gauge stretch ponte of cotton, nylon, and polyurethane through special processing, creating a cloth-like finish.
